LARCO is one of the largest ferronickel producers in the world and its activities include the exploration, development, mining, smelting and trading of its products globally.The company’s products are used by most of the major stainless steel manufacturers that use granulated ferronickel.
In addition, the company has significant Research and Development activities and collaborates closely with other organizations such as the Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, the National Institute of Geology and Mineral Exploration, the University of Patras, the Centre for Metallurgical Industrial Research and Technology Development and the National Technical University of Athens. LARCO’s shareholders are the Hellenic Republic Assets Development Fund (55.2%), National Bank of Greece (33.4%) and Public Power Corporation (11.4%).
The Hellenic Republic has appointed HSBC and PricewaterhouseCoopers Business solutions as financial advisor and KGDI Law firm as legal advisors to assist with the privatisation.
